On 29th December, 2024 (Sunday) Genesis Educational and Charitable Trust .Annual Sports Day Event
The stage was opened by singing the National Anthem led by Dr. Purnendu Roy Founder Trustee Member, Dr. Olivia Dunlop Trustee Member Mr. Simon Dunlop Trustee Member and all the noble dignitaries who took out time and went to Kultali and supported the event and joined hands to cut the New Year celebration cake and launched the calendars for the Genesis Group of Companies for the year 2025.
The events which followed were:
- Annual Sports Day Event - Races, Hula Hoop Competition, Skipping Competitions, Spoon and Marble Race, Musical Chair for both boys and girls. It was a healthy competition among all the kids, the desire to win was extremely strong.
- Annual Cultural Event - The cultural event was taken over by Mr. Soumya Shankar Roy and his brilliant team which consisted of few underprivileged young people who were differently abled but performed like professionals. GECT was glad to include them into our celebrations also the talented children performed a classical dance, beautiful music and songs with recitation and drama infused into the cultural event not forgetting the talk by the nurses of Genesis Hospital Kasba Kolkata Educating the young girls and women who were made aware about hygiene, sanitation, the need to use Biodegradable sanitary Napkins like Ritu Sanitary Napkins.
-Bringing in the New Year 2025 with our privileged guests and the children with their parents were surreal and overwhelming which started with the National Anthem, followed by the Cake Cutting Ceremony and the Calendar Launch of 2025 for Genesis Group of Companies was exceptionally moving for all.
- Organic Farm Market - GECT organized an Organic Farm Market which comprised of Organic Vegetables, Sundarbans Honey, Jaggery with the labour of love of the ladies who work day in and day out to produce organic products and sold it to our guests who always look forward to purchase the same from the local Sundarban women in turn helping them earn for the day without bargaining.
- Prize Distribution Ceremony - GECT felicitated the students of Classes X & XII who have passed and got good marks in their respective Board Examinations and got flying colours. We felicitated them for their hard work and zeal to study even when their do not have any luxuries or any kind of tutorship from either their parents or others. Dr. Olivia Dunlop gave away the prizes for the sports events which went of beautifully with appreciating the honest efforts towards sports of these budding sportsmen and sportswomen from the villages of Sundarbans. GECT appreciated them with medals, certificates, trophies to boost the morale of the children along with that provided Perks and Muffins as all children love chocolates.
- Wholesome Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks were provided to all the guests, the children, the teachers, the employees and everyone who are associated with the school that is Genesis Eduventure Public School, Kultali, Sundarbans.
A day filled with joy and enjoyment not only for the children but also for our guests, employees and everyone associated with our charitable work in Sundarbans which started from a bus journey with breakfast on the bus, stopping over for tea | coffee mid-way, to reaching the venue and being served with mid-morning breakfast and nice cold Coconut Water to sports and cultural event to sumptuous lunch and a walk near the river beds of Sundarbans creeks. A beautiful day trip to Sundarbans.
Every year, we plan to continue the Annual Sports Day Event and the Cultural Event with the talented children of Sundarbans.
